Nissan Altima Earns First-Time All-Star Status From Automobile Magazine

“We’re incredibly proud to receive this award,” said Anne Corrao, director, family sedans and sports cars, Nissan North America. “Altima is one of the most important products in our portfolio and to be honored among the best in the business means the world to us.”

Each year, the editors at Automobile Magazine determine the best new cars. The evaluation criteria does not involve price caps or points.

“The Nissan Altima has undergone a transformation that elevated it to All-Star status,” said Automobile editor-in-chief, Mike Floyd. “It drives worlds better than before, is available with an innovative engine and a top-flight suite of safety features, and its clean interior layout pairs with a great-looking new exterior.”

The 2019 Nissan Altima is available at eight trim levels: S, SR, SR VC-Turbo, SV, SL, Platinum, Platinum VC-Turbo, and Edition ONE VC-Turbo. The VC-Turbo trims are powered by a 2.0-liter Variable Compression Turbo four-cylinder engine paired to an Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission to generate 248 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque (93-octane fuel) and 236 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque (87-octane fuel). The standard 2.5-liter Direct Injection Gasoline four-cylinder engine paired to the Xtronic CVT puts out 188 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque.
